Lake House Renovation

My husband found this in the basement and asked if I wanted to keep it. The wheel in my head started turning!A new piece of wood, foam, 3 coats of paint, 3/4 yard of fabric and you have a brand new bench! My husband and I were fortunate enough to purchase a cute little ranch on a small lake in New Hampshire a few months ago.  When we visited the home the first time, we were able to see past the tired interior, and envision a cozy retreat for our family and friends to visit.  The home was built in 1968 and appears not to have had any updates (except electrical).  Since we had such a rough winter, and obviously weren't able to work on the outside of the home, we started updating the interior.  My husband and I have spent nearly every weekend sanding, priming and painting to bring some life back to the house.  Needless to say, as you will see in upcoming days, it only takes a little paint and some imagination to create a new and updated look.  Since I have my own window treatment design business, I am able to create all the window treatments and accessories, which has saved us quite a bit of money.  We found various pieces of furniture around the house, that with a little TLC are now functional and appear brand new.
